Scarcity Increases Your Impact

Scarcity Increases Your Impact

Most entrepreneurs and leaders think that if they had MORE time, they would be able to create more impact (more revenue, accomplish more, etc), however nothing could be further from the truth.

EXCESS TIME is one of the greatest enemies you have to your impact.

The larger your organization gets, the more you are responsible for, the higher you must elevate in your thinking around time.

In the early days, the more time you had, the more you got done. The more you got done, the more revenue you created and the more impact you had.

Today, that’s no longer the case.

Time is no longer your most valuable currency; where you INVEST your time is.

And as a leader, the more time you spend IN the business, the less impact you have.

So, if you want to elevate your impact, intentionally create scarcity with your time.

Limit your available time slots for meetings and calls, because when you do, the value of those moments skyrockets—for you and for others.

Create scarcity in the amount of time you allow yourself to work IN the business. As a result, the quality of work in those slots rises, and you experience exponential growth in the value of your time.

Scarcity forces you to get clear on what really matters and where your most leveraged actions truly are.

  • If you HAD to cut 30% of the current meetings on your calendar on a week-to-week basis, how would you do that?
  • If your life depended on you being done with work by 3pm each day (without starting earlier), what tasks, projects, and responsibilities would you choose to cut completely and which would you give to someone else?

One simple method is doing an audit of the meetings you regularly have on your calendar and challenging your beliefs about them.

Perhaps you choose to attend a meeting bi-weekly or monthly instead of weekly. Perhaps you scratch the meetings on your calendar that you honestly don’t need to be in or someone else could go in your stead.

If you want to make a greater impact this year, it starts with scarcity.
