Ever feel like you have way more urgent projects to get done than you have time for?
Sorry, stupid question…
ME TOO.
On top of that, I feel like I have less time right now than I’ve ever had to get stuff done during the week.
We are in a season of life where our kids have a LOT of activities. There are very few evenings free and often we’re headed to sporting events in the middle of the day, driving multiple hours each way at times.
Granted, we only have two teens and I know some of you have 4-5 kids, but who’s comparing!
I messaged my coach the other week, telling him how overwhelmed I felt.
I shared how I had so many urgent projects that needed my attention, while at the same time because of kids’ schedules and personal/professional travel plans, I simultaneously had less time than normal to accomplish them.
More to do.
Less time.
That’s a recipe for overwhelm OR for overworking!
(Who secretly knows that one? If you have way more to do, you just put in MORE hours! – much to your spouse/kids’ dismay).
Here’s what my coach messaged back:

I didn’t have a capacity issue; I had a focus issue.
Turns out, I was trying to do lots of good things rather than focusing on one BEST thing. Which for me, was making time for more “space” on my calendar to think, reflect, ask bigger questions, and solve them.
Funny enough, by doing that, I’ve created better results everywhere else…who knew doing something I coach my clients to do might actually work for me! ☺️
What if you didn’t have a capacity issue?
What if you had a FOCUS issue?
What’s the one lever, if pulled over the next 30 days, would create the biggest ripple effect across everything else in your life or business?
Focus on that one thing.
Set the rest aside for now.
That’s 10x-Leadership Thinking…
